Alison Doody
Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish model and actress. She made her film debut by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to appear as a Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was a model when the opportunity was offered by an aspiring photographer. The career she pursued has developed into commercial modeling. Doody strove to avoid the glamour of nude roles which was a principle she incorporated into her acting. When she was spotted by the director of casting for an upcoming James Bond movie, she was cast of A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody was named as one of the 12 most promising new Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody had just turned 18 years old at the time she was cast in the character of Bond girl. Doody is the youngest Bondgirl to date. A Prayer for the Dying (1997), starring Mickey Rourke, also featured one of her roles as IRA Siobhan. Doody played the role of Archibald's wife, Lilias In his dream in 1987's television adaptation The Secret Garden. Doody's first leading role came in a 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller as Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. She first appeared in the 1988 movie Taffin with Pierce Brosnan. Next, she played the role of Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian archaeologist and Nazi-sympathizer opposite Harrison Ford. Doody acted alongside Sean Connery, who played the character's father. Doody co-starred in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British mini-series Selling Hitler, which was in the spirit of a publication scam known as The Hitler Diaries. She subsequently relocated to Hollywood. She was Flannery her agent as well as her girlfriend in Major League II. She was selected as an alternative to Cybill Shepherd who was L'Oreal's first spokeswoman. Doody was away from acting for almost 10 years, returned in 2003 for a minor role of her role in the British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine played her in a scene at an award ceremony. In 2004, Doody was in the film in a scene with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. Also, she appeared as a character in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody was also cast in Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). Doody was a guest on RTE's Medical drama The Clinic. The project was eventually canceled. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. She also appeared as Pam Jefferson in We Still Kill the Old Way. On 21 November 2018 she received the Almeria Tierra de Cine award and she received the honor of a star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
